Since 2002, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students have been able to experience The Montfort Academy's education through participation in a special Saturday morning program called the Renaissance Invitational. Each elementary school Principal in the Archdiocese of New York can nominate one or two students to receive a full scholarship to this program.
The day at the academy is typically three hours, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm one Saturday a month during the Fall and one Saturday a month during the Spring for a total of 8-10 courses. Each class is taught by an expert professional.
Subjects have included:
Debate and Rhetoric
Galileo and the Starry Messenger
Architecture of the Town Square
The Stock Market
Technology: From Inspiration to Invention
And many other fascinating topics
You may also request to be nominated by your school principal for a full scholarship to attend the Renaissance Invitational. Please ask your elementary school principal for details or you may contact Mr. Steven Edelson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
