Of all the workmanship that man has produced, woodworking has a special place in God's creation. After all, St. Joseph was a carpenter, and we presume that Our Lord would have followed in his footsteps as a young boy. Have you ever looked at a piece of wood furniture and said, "That is beautiful." Have you ever wondered how a tree becomes a piece of furniture and what tools are required to shape and form wood? Have you ever wondered how a piece of wood is properly finished to make its grain explode with fire? These are just a few of the questions that Mr. Jim Fitzgerald, head of The Montfort Academy's St. Joseph the Workers Club, will teach interested students. And, by the way, each student will leave the class with his or her own set of tools!
