Nearly 3,000 years ago in Olympia, Ancient Greece, the first Olympic games were held. This is a tradition which continues today and has spread throughout the world. Now, for the first time in Olympic history, the games will be played in Mount Vernon, New York. The Olympiad is a competition truly worthy of the human spirit, and one that complements our longing for victory, for greatness, and for glory. The students will actively participate in one of the most fundamental components of Greek history and culture, a culture which has added so much to Western Civilization. This session is only for the brave; those who are willing to risk the agony of defeat in pursuit of the thrill of victory.
