The beginning is the most important part of any work,
especially in the case of a young and tender thing;
for that is the time at which the character is being formed
and the desired impression is more readily taken.

The Montfort Academy is a classical curriculum Roman Catholic high school for boys and girls faithful to the Magisterium of the Church. We promote the highest ideals of faith and character, scholarship, citizenship, sportsmanship, integrity, and moral development by providing our students a priceless and unparalleled education and love of learning that will last a lifetime and beyond their life on earth. We follow a 2,000 year old curriculum that has produced some of the greatest inventors, scientists, statesmen, and saints.
The Catholic faith infuses every aspect of academic, spiritual, and extracurricular endeavor, including sports. Our four-year classical program teaches the best that man has ever thought, said, or done in the world. Montfort prepares her students for a life of success and virtue in this world so they can be with God forever in the next world.
As a fun and safe place for boys and girls to grow up, Montfort is filled with joy, love, and a deep, genuine sense of family.
At Montfort, students Seek Wisdom, Practice Virtue, and Keep the Faith.
At Montfort, students are not afraid to ask big questions. They delve deeply into the traditions of Western civilization, history, science, mathematics, and literature and learn to use the wisdom of the past to shape a vision for their future. They learn to love the philosophers of antiquity and the theologians of the Middle Ages and to explore creation side-by-side with Euclid, Galileo, and Einstein. They learn to interpret challenging original texts, to construct logical arguments, and to communicate well. They learn to think independently. They learn to write compellingly. And perhaps most unique about Montfort's program, they learn to speak confidently and eloquently in public. In short, they are immersed in a vibrant intellectual life of great ideas down through the ages. . .an adventure to seek truth.
Montfort is true Catholic formation. Our primary objective is the sanctification of the soul. We care about our students beyond their grades; we care about who they and how they live. With Mass each Tuesday, frequent prayer and confession, weekly Holy Hours, Eucharistic adoration, and Rosary, and countless opportunities to serve God and neighbor, Montfort students grow in virtue, character, and nobility. They leave Montfort prepared to defend, promote, and celebrate all that is good, true and beautiful. Now as physicians, seminarians, nurses, accountants, White House interns, scientists, investment bankers, wealth managers, writers, filmmakers, soldiers, professors, and teachers, Montfort alumni are leading the transformation of the world, helping to orient our culture, business, politics, medicine, laws, science, literature, and art ever towards God and the greater good.
Sports are an essential part of life at The Montfort Academy. Participation in Sports helps develop not only the body but also the mind and soul, so that all three work in balance and harmony. Montfort Knights play baseball, soccer, basketball, softball, and volleyball and run track and cross country fairly and nobly on and off the playing field. They compete with the dignity and virtue of a noble person. Sportsmanship at Montfort is always about playing, winning, and losing virtuously; it really is about how you play the game.
From astronomy to robotics, from a cappella to swing dancing, from computer programming to managing The Montfort Academy Gift Shop, from our nationally recognized pro-life club to our St. Joseph the Worker carpentry and construction club, The Montfort Academy's clubs are as diverse as our students. We also have a drama club that performs a Fall Shakespeare or Ancient Greek play and Spring Musical, a Debate team on its way to State recognition, a Renaissance polyphony schola, a chess club, a math club, a yearbook club, and much, much more!
The Montfort Academy is the only Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of New York to be included in the Cardinal Newman Society Catholic Education Honor Roll for excellent and faithful Catholic education.
Founded in 2002 by former Assistant Secretary of the Navy and former White House Fellow Richard Greco, Jr., The Montfort Academy is an independent, classical-curriculum college-preparatory high school for boys and girls firmly grounded in the rich intellectual, spiritual, and liturgical traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
