PROGRAM OVERVIEW

A truly unique outdoors camp at the beautiful Beardslee Homestead in upstate New York, three hours away from Mt. Vernon and very close to Cooperstown, home of The Baseball Hall of Fame.

This camp is designed to foster friendship and camaraderie among Montfort Knights and prospective Montfort Knights with campfire discussions, meals together like homemade pizza, activities like stargazing, astrophotography in Bortle Class 3 Dark Skies, target practice, archery, fishing, bridge jumping, bocce, baseball, frisbee and so much more. Of course, true friendship is based in a common pursuit of virtue, so faith, daily prayer, and work initiatives like woodworking and metal working are a fundamental part of this very special and unique camp.

JULY 19: Departure from Montfort. Arrival at The Homestead. Welcome Lunch and Orientation. Afternoon Sports (Frisbee, Football, Soccer, and Wiffleball). Bridge Jumping. Swimming. Knife-Forging. Target Practice. Pizza Making Lessons and Pizza Making for Dinner. Bonfire. Stargazing. Bedtime.

JULY 20: Breakfast in the Tavern after collecting eggs from the chickens, Mass at Rosa Mystica. Agricultural and Service projects. Pizza Making Lunch, Afternoon Blacksmithing and Knife-Handle Making. Sports. Reading. Dinner, Bonfire. Bedtime.

JULY 21: Pizza Making Lessons and Pizza Making for Dinner. Bonfire. Stargazing. Bedtime.

JULY 22: Breakfast in the Tavern, Holy Mass at Rosa Mystica, Cooperstown visit and Baseball Hall of Fame. Glimmerglass State Park for hiking and water sports. Reading in the Library. Free time. Bonfire. Bedtime.

JULY 23: Sports (Frisbee, Football, Soccer, and Wiffleball). Bridge Jumping. Swimming. Knife-Forging. Target Practice.
