MONTFORT WINS WESTCHESTER ETHICS BOWL

On Saturday, February 2nd, two teams of Montfort Knights traveled to Manhattanville College to compete for the first time in the regional Ethics Bowl against 13 other teams from 6 other area high schools. The Ethics Bowl challenges students to think critically about contemporary ethical dilemmas and present and defend their positions. Both Montfort teams performed extremely well, beating many more experienced teams.  Maddisyn Campagnone, Alessandra Carino, Ben Connelly and Gabrielle Margand collaborated as a team to score 2 wins and 1 tie before the semi-final round. The other team which included Zach Gilliam, Makayla Josiah, Tanya Porcari, Salma Santos, and Emily Varker went on to compete in the final round and ultimately, won the championship. Congratulations to our contemplative Knights and to Dr. Connelly and Mr. Merola, their team coaches!

Competitors included teams from Thornton-Donovan, Poughkeepsie Day, North Rockland, John S. Burke Catholic. Performing and Visual Arts Magnet School and Fairfield Prep.
