Mr. Michael Flanagan
Michael Flanagan has been teaching math at The Montfort Academy for the past two years. Michael has taught each different math course that the Montfort Academy offers including: pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra 2/trigonometry, precalculus, and AP calculus. Along with teaching, Michael has also been the acting Athletic Director for the school and has coached both the girls’ basketball and boys’ baseball teams.
Michael graduated from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh in 2012 where he was part of a BA/MST combined program in which he received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education. Michael is certified by the state of New York to teach math for all grades 7-12. Michael also earned a minor in business while attending Plattsburgh. Michael played a season of varsity baseball for the school during his freshman year. He then went on to be a resident assistant his sophomore and junior years.
Following graduation Michael worked for Hawthorne Cedar-Knolls as a teaching assistant before being hired by Montfort. Michael also currently works as a private tutor in which he prepares students in various math subjects as well as preparing students to take the SAT/ACT exams.
