Polyphony Schola
The Montfort Boys Schola has sung its way into its fifth year at the Academy. Members need not read music though it is a welcome asset! The fellas devote themselves to preparation for the weekly School Mass and music for special school occasions including Graduation. Members learn not only the mechanics of music but also how to plan a liturgy in accordance with the daily readings and liturgical guidelines. Their repertoire includes Gregorian chant, organon, classical favorites, hymnody and original harmonies and arrangements! Emphasis is on creating sung prayer which gives glory and honor to God, inspires the faithful and which presents, promotes and preserves the Church's heritage of sacred music.
