On Sunday, November 8, 2003 The Montfort Academy celebrated the Dedication of The Reverend Doctor Jewon Jeyune Park Memorial Library. Secretary Greco, founder of The Montfort Academy, and his wife Marla, referred to Dr. Park as the “Angel” they prayed for – an angel who would help cultivate the new Academy. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Park and celebrate her great love for education in our daily endeavors, as we derive strength and determination from her personal witness and generosity. A founder and pastor of The Gospel Church in Astoria, Queens, Dr. Park had wanted to start her own school. Although this aspiration was not accomplished during her life’s journey, her daughter Ellen Leigh believed that her mother’s dream would be realized in the founding and development of The Montfort Academy. The Academy, a labor of love dedicated to Our Lady, has born much fruit since 2003. This would not have been possible without Dr. Park’s donation. May she eternally be reminded of our gratitude as we seek wisdom and knowledge illuminated by faith. Students at The Montfort Academy also use The Katonah Village library - a five-minute walk from our school. |
