The Curriculum
The academic program of The Montfort Academy reflects a four-year classical education curriculum. Courses in Latin, mathematics, astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, history, geography, economics, grammar, logic, rhetoric, literature, fine arts, modern languages, philosophy, and religion are required. Electives in Greek, music, and art are offered, as is a 4-week summer archeological course in southern or northern Italy.

At The Montfort Academy, students learn from the works of original authors such as Newton, Galileo, and Virgil, and have their horizons pushed back by an introduction to the Great Books of western civilization.

One of our primary educational goals at The Montfort Academy is to give students the critical-thinking skills necessary to make judgments based on logic. A classical curriculum offered in conjunction with the Socratic Method of teaching has proven itself time and again to be the best approach to teaching students to think, reason, and form judgments based on sound philosophical and logical principles.
